A Little History about the Lokey Automotive Group
In 1952, Earle B. Lokey first opened the Lokey Oldsmobile dealership on Cleveland Street in downtown Clearwater, Florida. In 1959, a few folks called him crazy when he purchased property "in the middle of the orange groves" on Gulf to Bay Boulevard and opened Lokey Motor Co. Lokey Motors was awarded the first Mercedes-Benz franchise in the state of Florida in 1966.
Earle Lokey's twin sons, Paul and Philip, began working their way up through the family business in the 1970's and took over management when Earle passed away in 1986.
Under Paul Lokey's leadership, Lokey Oldsmobile has become the Lokey Automotive Group with the Lokey Volkswagen, Lokey Nissan, Lokey Kia, Subaru of Port Richey dealerships. The mission of the Lokey Automotive Group is to develop long-term relationships by providing consumers with extraordinary service and value.
The Lokey Automotive Group is spread all over the Tampa Bay area from Port Richey to Clearwater. Subaru of Port Richey joined the group in the Fall of 2010 and Subaru of America's 2013 sales have been the company's best ever. Lokey is proud to offer this great brand to Tampa Metro customers. In July 2011, the Sears Auto Center opened at our previous Saturn of St. Pete location and participated in Sear's Price Match Guarantee. We closed our Sears operation in November 2012.
In Spring of 2010 the Lokey Automotive Group incorporated Lokey Charities as the giving arm of the company. The Lokey Charities MISSION is to help children and youth reach their full potential by providing for basic needs such as food, shelter, access to medical care and positive mentoring.
